Matt Dorado is a writer, filmmaker, and experience creator.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Matt Dorado grew up with a passion for entertainment—live or on-screen. Growing up fascinated by theme parks and genre flicks, Dorado began his career as a theatre-maker, crafting darkly comedic plays and interactive shows during his time in college in Santa Barbara, California. It was during these years that he also tapped into his life-long love of Halloween, where he wrote, directed, and executive produced the first public haunted attraction in Santa Barbara county.

Upon moving back to Los Angeles after graduation, he combined his passion for haunted houses with his burgeoning interests in nightlife, cocktails, and immersive theatre, and created Drunken Devil, a company that produces deliriously themed immersive nightlife experiences and intimate, narrative-driven supper clubs. Dorado’s company has transported guests to a haunted tiki bar in Old Hollywood, a Storyville-era brothel run by vampires, and even Caligula’s court in Ancient Rome. He has his hand in all elements of these larger-than-life experiences, from atmosphere design and casting, to production, marketing, and publicity. In addition to Drunken Devil, he has worked as an event producer with a variety of organizations, including Cirque du Soleil, LA Opera, Houston Hospitality, Los Angeles Magazine, and more.

Matt is also a budding filmmaker. His first short film, A Ritual, Complete, premiered at the Holly Shorts Screening Series in 2016. His next short, In Sheep’s Clothing, is set to begin shooting in Winter of 2020.
