Cantina del Diablo

Drunken Devil’s fourth and final summer soirée was a hot one, a dark celebration steeped in Mexican mythology, sponsored by El Silencio Mezcal.

In Cantina del Diablo, audiences were transported to a turn-of-the-century cantina in Oaxaca, where they met Marisol Cortez, the bar’s resident entertainer, and member of an underground coven run by the bar’s owner. When a new ingenue threatened her status, Marisol went to great lengths to maintain her position — leading up to a bloody, shattering finale. Guests interacted with Marisol, various cantina barflies, and members of the coven, engaging them with an immersive narrative where they chose sides as they learned various characters’ intentions.

The result was a high-energy horror experience, featuring steamy burlesque, fire dancers, free-flowing mezcal, photo installations, and all night disco.
