MONSTER PARTY

Set against the backdrop of McCarthyism and the Lavender Scare, MONSTER PARTY transports guests to a lively Halloween cocktail soirée, hosted by an enigmatic woman known only as The Baroness. Also in attendance? Several peculiar party guests who have no idea who they are, or how they arrived at this particular gathering.

The more audiences engage with party guests — and the charming yet mysterious Baroness — the more unhinged things become. As a twisted narrative unfolds, the absurd replaces the logical, and the once-convivial party will have them questioning their sanity (and, possibly, their moral compass) as they discover the secrets behind the Baroness’ surreal soirée.

MONSTER PARTY is a fable about how the systems we exist within – Western Christianity, capitalism, patriarchy, warmongering, various moral panics – turn us into monsters, terrorizing one another while those in power benefit. All of the complexities of this thesis are communicated through a campy, darkly comedic, joyfully unsubtle chamber piece.

MONSTER PARTY played as a proof-of-concept show on October 3rd and 4th, 2024. After an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from audiences, MONSTER PARTY will return in an even bigger and better capacity in 2025 — stay tuned for more information about the show, fundraising, and ways to get involved!
