SIN-A-RAMA

For Drunken Devil’s third annual summer soirée, I decided it was time to get a little extra grimy. Enter Sin-A-Rama, a wild romp that was as much an experiment in immersive storytelling as it was an ode to splatter cinema.

Guests were transported to a grindhouse theatre circa 1974, where an infamous director had summoned some of Hollywood’s brightest stars to gather under the pretense of an exclusive fête. As it goes at all of my events, the evening progressed and the director’s true, villainous intent — summoning demons to possess the actors and filming their demise in an act of vengeance against the studio system — was revealed. Oh, and there was plenty of theater popcorn and candy to go around as they did.

Throughout the evening, guests were also treated to live music, burlesque, and disco, all against the backdrop of actual grindhouse film footage projected on the warehouse’s cyc. A gory and glorious evening, indeed!
